Polaris Outlaw 525 Recalled Due To Fire Hazard

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Polaris Industries Inc. issued a recall on its Outlaw 525 all-terrain vehicles (ATV).

The manufacturer has discovered that a loose fuel valve in the fuel tank could allow a fuel leak which could possible ignite and harm the rider.

Vehicles included in the recall were sold between January through May of this year. Approximately 900 vehicles have been affected. Owners are urged to contact their nearest dealer. Polaris will replace the affected fuel tank free-of-charge.

2. that's polaris for ya, factory flaws are just about in every one from my experience.
owned one that had a flaw with the cylinder being too thin and eggshaping when it got hot. seems they had to recall over 1200 of these with this flaw.
had one that had a flaw in the pvt tranny, seems they drilled the left side holes for the mounting bolts off by 1/4 inch resulting in them throwing the belt off constantly while riding. they did a recall on these as well.

i finally got tired of not being able to ride with my buddies because the polaris needed repairs. kind of embarassing when my friends are riding honda's suzuki's and yamaha's and every polaris i bought new won't run when you want it to. not to mention the ragging i got for buying yet another polaris when the last one had so many problems within 3 months of ownership.
not to mention paying all that money on a polaris.
I sold mine cheap and put money down on a suzuki 400 and then bought the yamaha blasters. no problems yet, and i ride hard!!!

3. That is insane. yeah i have a 500 outlaw and there was a recall on it, nothing major. But the day i brought home my quad, the brights went out... then the headlights.. something is shorted some where and the dealership refused to fix it.
